How to use

About this Days Until Calculator
Counting down to a specific date is straightforward with a calendar for a week or two out, but becomes error-prone across months with different lengths, or when a leap year adds an extra day to the count.
How the countdown is calculated
The tool takes the exact calendar difference between today's date and the target date, counting every day in between including leap days if a February 29 falls within the range. The result is the same regardless of how the months in between are structured — a count to a date 6 months out correctly reflects the mix of 28-, 30-, and 31-day months in that window.
Worked example
From January 15 to April 1 of the same non-leap year: 16 days remaining in January, plus 28 in February, plus 31 in March, plus 1 day to reach April 1 — 76 days total. Doing this by hand requires tracking each month's actual length; the calculator does it instantly for any date range.
